The Central Bank of Kenya has officially launched the Kenya Quick Response Code Standard 2023 (KE-QR Code Standard 2023), a major step toward streamlining digital payments across the country.
The Standard sets unified guidelines for banks and Payment Service Providers to issue QR codes that enhance convenience, security, and interoperability for both consumers and merchants.
This move is expected to drive financial inclusion and support Kenya’s growing cashless economy.
